Pat: "here's the whole school with the three teachers that the school used then - when I left there were four teachers. This must have been taken 1961/62 as it was my first year. Unfortunately we weren't put in rows so it's hard to list the pupils. What I've done is make a negative of the picture and then number each pupil.  Download a PDF image
The Linda Goulton (7) in the photograph became Linda Mann on her marriage and was the school secretary at Wetherby High. There seems to be a few kids missing - Julia Reynolds, John's older sister, the Yeomans, Anne Birchall - or maybe they're all there but can't recognise them! I don't know most of the older ones only the ones that lived in my village.
Looking at me in my cute (?) little bonnet, gloves and thick coat it reminded me of being absolutely frozen in the playground before they'd unlock the doors at 9am for morning registration. Only the very worst of weather would they allow us in when it was break time. There again looking at the older kids maybe I just felt the cold more than others! "
Pat is standing at the top of the steps with her gloves proudly displayed through the railings
